Cyber Monday laptop live blog: The deals just keep coming

Cyber Monday laptop live blog: The deals just keep coming

Refresh

If you missed the previous offers running on the MacBook Air (the shiny new M1 model) then don’t panic – we’ve found another listing over on Amazon that’s knocked $100 off the price.

I’m not historically a fan of Apple devices, but this won me over almost instantly and got me excited about MacBooks again which was no easy task, so it can weave miracles as far as I’m concerned.

This is hands down the best laptop on the market for most people right now, unless you’re looking for something that can handle graphically demanding tasks, so don’t sleep on that discount.

Need an affordable gaming laptop for Christmas? I gotchu, don’t worry. This Acer Nitro 5 has $200 knocked off the usual price, taking it down to $899.99, and while it doesn’t have the most powerful components, it does have the latest generation of them, so you won’t be left behind the times.

That means it has an 11th generation Intel i7 processor – which is great as Acer could have tried to stick with an i5 to save some cash, and you also get an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti. You won’t be pushing Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra with that, but you do at least get features like DLSS and raytracing.

Acer Nitro 5

What it is perfect for, is competitive games like Fortnite, League of Legends and Valorant, but you can still play some AAA games too – just don’t expect it to run like an RTX 3080 laptop. My teenage siblings would love this for college too, so it’s a useful investment if you’re buying for young gamers who need a new device for school.

Hey, don’t mind us as we sliiide back into this live blog. Turns out, loads of retailers still have some great deals worth shouting about so we’re going to keep the deal train going until nothing else catches our eye.

Do you want a slim, lightweight 2-in-1 that still manages to pack a punch? We love the MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo, and frankly so should you as it ticks every box on that list.

This beastly little thing is equipped with an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM to eat through applications and a 1TB SSD. If that takes your fancy then good news: Micro Center has knocked $100 off the usual retail price, taking it from $1,499.99 to a more palatable $1,399.99.

It even comes with a stylus for use with the touchscreen display. That’s practical for actual work, and doodling on MS Paint when you’re in meetings. If you’re a student on a creative course, or perhaps just getting started in something like photography and graphic design, this is a lovely laptop that will cater to all your needs.

cheap dell laptop deals

Oh and one more deal. It just landed and is so good we couldn’t let this one slip away. You can get the perpetual version of Adobe Acrobat 2020 for £22 from Dell. No subscription, just a one-off cost. It may well be a misprice given that the full license costs about £308. But hey, if you don’t try, you won’t know.

So if you are interest in getting a cut price Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020, go to Dell, buy the cheapest laptop that offers it (Dell Inspiron 15 3000) and don’t forget to use the coupon code CYBER15 and get it for just under £348 after the discount. Not bad hey! Of course, nothing prevents you from going for an XPS 13 for example or a Dell Latitude.

Dell Insipron 15-7501

And one last deal for the day (well at least here in the UK). Best Buy sells the Dell Inspiron 15 7501 with a 10th generation Intel Core processor, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and a 15.6-inch full HD display for only $549.99, a $250 discount off the suggested retail price of $800. The offer ends in seven hours.

HP Stream G5 Pro laptop

It might not be the most attractive laptop right now but the HP Stream 11 Pro G5 has something that no other laptop in this price range offer. Windows 10 Pro. This Chromebook-rival costs only $179, a saving of $60 off its usual sticker price from Microsoft.

Its specification sheet is adequate for basic tasks. There’s a quad-core Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB eMMC storage, an 11.6-inch LCD display and Wi-Fi 5. It should be upgradable to Windows 11 Pro when available and students, parents, teachers and military staff can apply for special pricing

Gateway laptop from Walmart

Here’s one brand you seldom hear from and yet its black-and-white spotty logo will bring back lots of memories for some. Gateway laptops are now available from Walmart and, on paper at least, they are very good value.

The one that caught my eye – and sets the baseline for the rest of the industry – is the Gateway GWTN156-9SL. It costs $449 and comes in five different colors; for that price you get an 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, a fingerprint scanner, THX-tuned speakers and a 15.6-inch Full HD display.

As far as value for money is concerned, this is it.

best laptop deals sales

It’s been a while since we haven’t looked at the Dell XPS 13.

The cheapest one in the UK right now is the XPS 13 9305, £722 when you use CYBER15 discount code at checkout. Saves you £127 from the sticker price of £849.

In the US, the same model costs $837.99, a $112.10 saving off its estimated value of $949.99. That one comes with an 11th gen Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, basically the same set of core components I had in my 2015 Dell XPS 13.

dell vostro 13 5301

It’s not part of the official Dell Cyber Monday laptop deal offers but the Dell Vostro 13 5301, the cheaper-and-lighter alternative to the XPS 13, has shed a staggering 55% off its suggested retail price, down to $659 instead of $1455.72 and dare we say, it is a better laptop despite the Vostro branding. (UK customers can grab it here for a mere £598.80)

Iota Flo 360 convertible laptop

Over on this side of the Atlantic, the best selling laptop at Amazon UK is yet another convertible, the Iota Flo 360. At £199.99, this deal is made sweeter by the fact that you get Microsoft 365 personal for free for a year, a freebie worth £50 on its own. Just bear in mind though that this is a very basic, entry level device which may frustrate some users. It has a dual-core Celeron, 4GB of RAM, 64GB onboard storage, an 11.6-inch HD+ touchscreen display and runs Windows 10S.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook

The best selling laptop on Amazon over Black Friday, the weekend and Cyber Monday is the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 3. It is still available for a rather enticing $197, a saving of more than $100 on its sticker price. A great price if you’re looking for a compact laptop that doubles as an emergency tablet with plenty of connections and ChromeOS to boot from.

Samsung Galaxy Book Pro on wooden table with screen open and desktop shown

You can get the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 for just $899 right now at Best Buy. That’ll get you a current-gen Core i7, 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. It’s not a bad deal, but Samsung isn’t nearly as good at making laptops as it is at making phones and TVs. But if you are an avid Samsung user, this laptop will work really well the rest of your devices.

Asus ZenBook Duo UX482EG

I don’t know what I love more: the fact that the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 15 is 6% off making it more affordable or that it’s still $2,259 at Amazon and still way too expensive for what’s on offer. It does have an RTX 3070 and a 10th-gen Core i7 CPU, but you really have to be into the second screen.

If you ask me it’s cool, but not necessarily worth the extra expense.

Acer Swift X

The Acer Swift X is another excellent creative laptop, especially if you want something powerful and extremely portable. The Ryzen 7 5800U is beefy, and the RTX 3050 Ti will help with creative workloads like video editing (but only to a point). And it’s just $899 at  Amazon right now.

The Alienware Area-51m R2 on a white background

You can even save $1,999 on the Alienware x17 with an RTX 3070. I haven’t finished my review on this laptop yet, but I’ve been using it off and on for about a month and it’s an excellent gaming laptop. It’s definitely more on the desktop replacement side of things, but it is very powerful. And it’s 0% claimed.

Alienware M15 R3

If you’re looking for a powerful gaming laptop, the Alienware m15 R6 with an 11th-gen Intel Core i7 and an RTX 3070 is just $1,699 right now on Dell’s website. Not bad for one of the best gaming laptops on the market. Though it is 53% claimed, so act fast if you want it.

Cyber Monday really is coming to an end soon. Another deals season almost in the rear view mirror. Soon I can get to my long list of reviews incoming. Some processors, a pretty pink keyboard, an inflatable gamer chair.

It’s going to be an exciting couple of weeks.

Amazon is really pushing this Asus Chromebook CX1 deal at $84.99. You should, uh, not buy it. It’s definitely cheap, but that’s because it’s using the Intel Celeron N3350, which came out in 2016. That is absolutely ancient in the laptop world, and it is not worth the time it would take to click the add to cart button. Trust me.

HP Envy 13 (2020)

Looks like HP just dropped some new deals. Most of them aren’t super exciting, but this drop lets me talk about the HP Envy 13, one of the most underrated laptops.

Everyone talks about the HP Spectres and the Dell XPS’s of the world, but the Envy is probably where most people should be looking anyway. It’s economical while still being absolutely gorgeous. This Cyber Monday deal also cuts the price down to $579 from $899 which makes it an absolute steal.

Seriously, with this deal, the HP Envy 13 is a $500 laptop that rivals a MacBook Air in design. Just look how small those bezels are! And with a built-in fingerprint reader and 8GB of RAM. Come on, this is the laptop deal to beat.

After a very cursory google search I found the Asus ROG Ranger BP3703 gaming backpack, and it’s everything I need in my life. Unfortunately it’s not sold anymore in the US, but it is on Amazon in India, so that’s something.

As a consolation I found an Anime Luminous Backpack, that kind of looks like it lights up, though that may just be a blue light or just shiny plastic.  There’s also a glow in the dark Pac-Man backpack at Pottery Barn. Basically I’m saying there’s options.

MSI Gaming laptop on a white background

Apparently you can get the MSI Katana with an RTX 3050 and 8GB of RAM for $799 at Adorama and it comes with a “free MSI Urban Raider”. That’s a really edgy name for a laptop backpack.

Honestly the backpack looks pretty decent for a gamer bag, though it would be made better with RGB lighting.

That was mostly a joke, but now I actually do want an RGB gamer backpack. Someone please get the scientists on that.

MSI Gaming laptop on a white background

Speaking of more affordable gaming laptops, the MSI GP66 Leopard with an RTX 3060 and a 1TB SSD is just $1,799 with a rebate at Newegg. It might be the cheapest way to get an RTX 3080 laptop right now, even if it isn’t the most premium chassis design in a laptop.

Just if you go for this laptop, please do me a favor and remember to fill out and mail the rebate form. You’re gonna get an extra $100 back for like 2 minutes of work. though, even at $1,899 this laptop is worth it, so I guess it’s up to you.

If you want a really spiffy gaming/creative laptop, Micro Center has Maingear’s Vector Pro with an Intel Core i7-11800H and an RTX 3080 for $2,299. That’s not the cheapest laptop by far, but I trust Maingear – however much that accounts for anything.

I just personally went through and checked all of the deals in our little roundup of Cyber Monday laptop deals, and a lot of the deals that were gone are back. So if you haven’t looked at that roundup, it’s worth it 👀👀👀

Dell XPS 13

Ok so earlier Matt said there wasn’t any good Cyber Monday laptop deals on Amazon. But that obviously has changed. The Dell XPS 13 is on sale, and it’s the latest model with an Intel Core i7-1195G7, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. And it’s a touchscreen model.

Basically this is the Ultrabook to rule all other Ultrabooks, and it has a 15% discount? For $1,439 at Amazon? Seriously, if you want a nice laptop and you don’t want to go the MacBook route, trust me and get this laptop. It’s a delight. Every time I get one in for review I have to prepare myself emotionally for a week to box it up and send it back to Dell.

I could go on and on. But this laptop is a work of art. It’s beautiful. Buy it.

Lenovo laptop on a white background

I’m just sitting here listening to Red for the 100th time in the last two weeks and looking at laptops at B&H. Honestly, it’s pretty great, especially when I keep finding cheap laptops I can easily write about.

Like the Lenovo IdeaPad 3! It’s not super powerful, with just a dual core 11th-gen Intel Core i3 chip and 8GB of RAM, but it’s just $409 right now, and even with a Full HD display.

I usually stay away from recommending cheap Windows laptops, because Windows is just kind of bad if you have less than 8GB of RAM, and you typically don’t find that much memory in laptops under $500. But I guess that just shows the magic of Cyber Monday.

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020) shown with lid closed

I’ve seen a lot of MacBook Airs with an M1 on sale, but they’ve all been the entry level model. And, like, that’s fine, but if you’re like me and like to have a bit more breathing room, the MacBook Pro with its more active cooling is the way to go.

As luck would have it, you can save $150 on a MacBook Pro M1 with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, bringing the price down to $1,549. That’s basically the dream configuration, and nothing will slow it down. (Though, it’s still not an M1 Pro, unfortunately).

MSI Creator 16 on a white backgorund

And we’re back! Matt’s off for the day, and Jackie’s here to find more laptop deals.

I love that literally the second I log in, I find an MSI Creator Z16 laptop for just $2,149 at B&H. And yeah, that’s expensive for a gaming laptop with just an RTX 3060, but this baby is for creative professionals. And, listen, video editors need gifts too. This is a dream of a creative laptop, but act fast because it looks like it’s going to sell out pretty quickly.

If that’s just the first Cyber Monday laptop deal I see today, that bodes well.

Dell XPS 15 laptop

The Dell XPS 15 is a brilliant laptop, and Best Buy has it for $500 off – now $1,299.99. This model comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti GPU, making it a brilliant choice for people who want a thin and light laptop for editing photos and videos on.

Usually, Dell has the best offers on its own laptops during Cyber Monday, so it’s good to see a cracking deal appear elsewhere.

Acer Swift 3 deal sale price

There’s probably no laptop more powerful than this Acer Swift 3 for less money. It features an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor, one of AMD’s fastest laptop chips. It comes with a 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM, Wi-Fi 6 and even Amazon Alexa technology.

All for just $580, a saving of $170. Hurry up though, this Amazon Deal of the Day ends in 16 hours…

A pair of Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 laptops against a Blue background with a TechRadar Big Savings badge

Over on the Dell Cyber Monday live blog, I’ve just highlighted a deal that’s SO GOOD I’m going to post it here as well: the excellent Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 laptop has just got a massive $520 price cut to just $999.99.

This is for the model with an 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. The Dell XPS 13 is one of the best laptops in the world due to its stylish thin and light design and powerful components, and this model is also a 2-in-1 laptop, which means it can be used as a tablet-like device as well. For the price, this may be the best Cyber Monday laptop deal you can get right now.

HP 15-ef1023dx laptop

Cheap HP laptops are always popular on Cyber Monday, so this deal from Best Buy will be tempting for anyone who wants an affordable laptop with dependable build quality. After all, you don’t want to buy a cheap laptop only for it to break soon after.

It doesn’t have a catchy name, but the HP 15-ef1023dx has a tempting price at just $399.99 (a saving of $90).

For that low price you get an AMD Ryzen 3 CPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD.

Lenovo N22 Chromebook

Fancy a super-cheap Chromebook? Of course you do! In the US, I think the cheapest Chromebook that’s worth buying is either the Lenovo N22 Chromebook for $99 at Walmart, or the Asus 11.6-inch Chromebook for $109 from Best Buy.

To be honest, I’d pay the extra $10 for the Asus model, as it’s a nicer device with better specs, including 32GB of storage compared to 16GB with the Lenovo.

Both of these are ultra-cheap, so don’t expect amazing things, but they are fine as a first laptop for kids, or something for doing a spot of emailing and internet surfing with.

Samsung Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha

Gather ’round kids, and let me tell you a story. Samsung is one of the biggest electronic companies in the world, and is a respected brand when it comes to smartphones, TVs, even storage.

But you know what? When it comes to laptops, it’s often overlooked. In the past, this was because it treated laptops as a bit of an afterthought, churning out laptops that were OK, but not that exciting.

What’s my point? Oh yeah! OK so not long ago, Samsung obviously thought ‘let’s have another crack at laptops’ and it’s started putting out some pretty decent laptops, like the Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha which has a Cyber Monday price cut to just $799.99 – a saving of $250.

This is a stylish and well-built Windows 11 laptop, and comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. It has a similar premium feel to Samsung’s flagship Galaxy smartphones (hence the ‘Galaxy’ name here as well), and the company clearly hopes that laptops like this will help it improve its standing in the laptop market.

With specs and build quality at a price like this, it might just succeed as well!

MacBook Air (M1, 2020)

Back in the US, and it looks like just as good a deal is live over there too. The MacBook Air with an M1 and a 256GB SSD is just $899 at Best Buy. Over there they pay sales tax which makes it a bit more expensive than over in the UK, but it’s still very much worth it.

MacBook Air M1 on a Blue Background

Somehow, against all odds, you can still get the MacBook Air M1 at Very for just £889. I literally do not know how this deal hasn’t sold out yet. This is a very good laptop at a very good price. Recommend.

Man som använder en HP ENVY x360 i soffan

Curry’s really doesn’t have that many good laptop deals. It has laptops, but the best deal I can seem to find is an HP Envy x360 with a Core i5, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for £699. That’s a good deal. I love that little laptop.

Samsung Galaxy Book Pro on wooden surface

It feels like the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro just came out last week (it didn’t), but you can already get it for just £1,249 at Amazon in the UK

That’s down from £1,449 and you’ll get an 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Not bad.

Surface Laptop 4

As a computing editor I get the luxury of being able to use pretty much any computer I want to whenever I want.

One of the laptops I go back to again and again is the Surface Laptop 4. For all the problems Microsoft has had with its Surface lineup, the Surface Laptop 4 is genuinely one of the best laptops I have ever used. I’ll still recommend it over a MacBook Air, even with that fancy M1 chip. Oh, and it’s $1,049 right now at Best Buy.

(Image credit: Konstantin Savusia / Shutterstock)

I constantly get friends and family asking me for a recommendation on a laptop under $300. I’ll tell you the same thing I tell them. Just. Buy. A. Chromebook.

Seriously, there are some pretty amazing deals on Best Buy right now. You can get one as low as $109!

Windows fail

Oooh Amazon has just made its Cyber Monday deals live in the US! Having a quick look, there aren’t any good laptop deals (boo!), though there’s a $5.40 discount on some USB-C cables. Ugh, thanks Amazon.

CYBER MONDAY CANCELLED.

Not really, but yeah if you were hoping for a killer laptop deal from Amazon on Cyber Monday, it looks like you may be disappointed. Check out our Cyber Monday deals guide where we pick the best offers.

MacBook Pro 14-inch on a table in an office

Speaking of recent MacBooks, Amazon has the brand-new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro chip on sale for £100 off, knocking the price to £1,799.

Now, I know, I know, £100 off isn’t going to be the biggest Cyber Monday price cut, but bear in mind that the MacBook Pro 14-inch came out mere weeks ago. Finding price cuts for Apple’s devices is hard enough at the best of times, but a £100 discount on a brand new device? That’s Cyber Monday magic, baby.

I can’t believe I just typed that.

ANYWAY this is a simply amazing laptop, and with the 8-core CPU and 14-core GPU of the M1 Pro, coupled with 16GB of memory and 512GB SSD, this is one of the most powerful – and portable – laptops you can buy, with a simply stunning display. Honestly, this is well worth buying if you have the cash.

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020)

OK, this is a great laptop deal in the UK. John Lewis has the MacBook Pro 13-inch (2020, M1) for £340 off for Cyber Monday. This is for last year’s model with an Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, all for a new low price of £1,459.

Sure, this isn’t the latest model with Apple’s own M1 chip, but it’s still a fantastic laptop from Apple, and is ideal for people looking for a laptop for creative work.

This model still comes with the Touch Bar! Rejoice! Or despair! Your choice, depending on how you feel about Apple’s divisive mini touchscreen, which it’s killed off on more recent MacBooks.

I’ve gone on at length about this in the past, but my favorite gaming laptops are the ones that look like just any laptop but can still kick some ass.

The reason I bring that up is that the MSI Stealth 15M with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 is on sale for $1,282 at Amazon. Totally worth it.

That deal is also highlighted in our Cyber Monday Dell live blog which as the name suggests, focuses on devices from Dell.

Dell XPS 13 deal header

Meanwhile, over in the UK, one of the best laptops in the world just got a big price cut on Cyber Monday, with the brilliant Dell XPS 13 now just £849.

This is the latest model, which comes with an 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 512GB SSD and 8GB RAM, and it’s Intel Evo certified, which means it comes with fast Thunderbolt 4 ports, turns on in a matter of seconds and has a battery life that lasts well beyond nine hours.

This model has had a £150 price cut, which drops it from £1,149 to £999. Then, use the code CYBER15 for an extra 15% off.

It’s early on Cyber Monday morning, so let’s get deal hunting! If you want a sleek and modern laptop, you can get the Asus VivoBook 15 OLED, with an Intel Core i5-1135G7 and 12GB of RAM for $694 at Amazon.

It’s not a 2-in-1, but it’s an OLED display which makes up for it. Pro tip: set a dark background and reap the battery life benefits.
